Part of Glasgow's M8 motorway is set to be closed for several weeks.

On behalf of Transport Scotland, Amey will be carrying out a package of 'essential' overnight maintenance work on the westbound carriageway of the motorway between Junctions 16 (Craighall) and 18 (Charing X).

The works are being carried out in multiple phases throughout 2024.

Now, the road firm has said the next phase of the works will take place from Sunday, September 8 until Friday, October 25, from 10pm to 6am, each night, excluding Friday nights and Saturdays.

During the works, the busy motorway in the city will be closed between the two junctions.

Amey says the scheme is to enable the next phase of works of the M8 Woodside Viaducts at Junctions 16 and 17.

A diversion will be in place for motorists throughout the works.
