A Glasgow bar is 'pressing pause' on its 'big and bold' move to a new location in the city centre.

October Glasgow - which is located in Princess Square on Buchanan Street - took to social media to announce the news recently.

It comes after the venue teased the move on Facebook earlier this month.

It is understood the new venue was set to open at 158 Bath Street on Friday, August 30.

However, the bar has revealed it is 'pressing pause' on its 'big move'.

Announcing the news, they said after almost 20 years of the boozer, they have 'reflected and decided it is time for something new'.

The popular venue added that the space on Bath Street will be developed into something 'bigger, better, and bolder' as they take time to think about the 'evolution' of the pub.

Due to this, they will not be opening the new watering hole as planned this Friday.

Now, fans are being urged to keep an eye on social media where the bar will reveal its new plans soon.

In the post, they said: "A little update from us.

"We’re pressing pause on our big move!

"After almost 20 years of October, we’ve reflected and decided that it's time for something new.

"While we take some time to think about the evolution of October, the space at 158 Bath Street will be developed into something bigger, better and bolder for you all.

"We will therefore not open next Friday, instead you can join our friends in Manuka for an October weekender, with all the same DJs, tunes and drinks you know and love.

"We will be contacting our bookings today to confirm your plans.

"Keep your eyes on our socials for more info coming soon."
