Four people have been injured after a three-car crash on Glasgow's M8 motorway.

At 5.57pm on Thursday, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service responded to the multi-vehicle incident at Junction 10 near Easterhouse in the East End.

According to emergency crews, four people were left injured following the collision.

Currently, their conditions are unknown.

A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.57pm to reports of a three-car road traffic collision on the M8.

“We mobilised four pumps and there were four casualties.

“We don’t have any further details on the casualties.”

We reported how two of three lanes at Junction 10 (Easterhouse) were closed at around 6.19pm, according to Traffic Scotland.

On social media, the transport firm said the westbound carriageway was restricted due to the collision, with “very heavy” traffic and delays of around 15 minutes.

The lanes were reopened at around 7.37pm.

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We received a report crash involving a number of vehicles on the M8 at Junction 10 westbound.

"Emergency services are in attendance."
