A prisoner has died in custody at HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs.
The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) announced that Marc Cox passed away on Saturday, August 31.
Our sister title the Greenock Telegraph reported that the 47-year-old was caged for three years at Greenock Sheriff Court on August 19, 2024.

He was found guilty by a jury of three indictment charges including attacks on a female complainer and on a young child.
Now, SPS says a fatal accident inquiry will be held into the Gourock man's death.
Meanwhile, Police Scotland have been advised of Cox's death and the matter will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for the SPS said: “Every death, whether in prison custody or in our communities, is a tragedy for all those who knew and supported the individual.
“Following the death of someone in our care, Police Scotland is advised, and the matter is reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
"Fatal Accident Inquiries are held in due course.”
