UPDATE: Services are now returning to normal.
Multiple train services in and around Glasgow are being disrupted this morning due to a 'failure'.
A points failure has occurred at Newton station, meaning one of the sections of tracks that allows trains to move from one line to another has broken.
Due to this, ScotRail is warning travellers that a number of services will be disrupted.
These include Dalmuir to Larkhall, Milngavie to Motherwell/Cumbernauld via Blantyre and Glasgow Central/Newton.
The rail firm expects engineers to be on site soon to inspect the problem.
In the meantime, customers can use alternative train routes Glasgow Central to Lanark, Dalmuir/Motherwell via Whifflet and Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk High/Shotts
Tickets are also being accepted on Whitelaws Coaches buses from Larkhall to Motherwell/Hamilton in both directions.
