A man has been arrested after cops held a 'day of action' in the HMP Low Moss area.

Officers alongside the Scottish Prison Service held the day of action in the area of the slammer on Thursday, August 29.

The force says it was aimed to help detect and deter illegal activity in the area.

During it, a 52-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences.

He was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, August 30.

On top of that, three men and a woman were reported in connection with alleged road traffic offences and one woman was issued with a road traffic ticket.

Meanwhile, another man was issued a Recorded Police Warning for an alleged drugs offence.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “This builds on our routine policing as we work to tackle criminality in and around prisons.

“We work closely with partners and members of the public to help keep our communities safe.

"I would urge anyone with information or concerns about issues in their area to come forward.

"Information can be passed to police via 101 or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
