A woman has been rushed to hospital after a car ploughed into a building in Glasgow.

Emergency crews - including police, firefighters, and paramedics - raced to Finnieston Street in the West End at around 1pm on Friday, September 13, after being alerted to the incident.

Now, police have revealed they were called to a three-vehicle smash, where one of the motors had collided with a building on the street.

Following that, a 54-year-old woman - who was driving one of the cars - was taken to hospital for treatment.

(Image: Newsquest) She was also handed a fine in connection with alleged road traffic offences.

In pictures shared with the Glasgow Times, a motor can be seen badly damaged in front of a building on the street.

It is understood the building is an office block.

Meanwhile, the images also show the glass on the front of the building has been smashed.

During the shocking incident, officers could also be seen taping off the area.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

A spokesperson for the SFRS said: "We were alerted at 1.08pm on Friday, August 13, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car that collided with another vehicle and building on Finnieston Street, Glasgow.

"Operations control immediately mobilised two fire appliances to the scene to assist emergency service partners. 

“One casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Around 1pm on Friday, September 13, 2024, we were called to a three-vehicle crash on Finnieston Street in Glasgow.

"One of the vehicles collided with a building.

"The 54-year-old female driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment.

"She has also been issued with a fixed penalty notice in connection with road traffic offences.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

They said: “We received a call at 1.28pm to attend an incident on Finnieston Street, Glasgow.

"An ambulance and paramedic response unit were dispatched to the scene.”
