Armed cops descended on a Glasgow bus station amid reports of a man with a gun.
Officers raced to Buchanan Bus Station in the city centre on Saturday afternoon after receiving reports of a passenger on a bus with a firearm.
When the force attended at around 1.25pm, the bus and bus station were evacuated as a precaution.
A 50-year-old man was arrested in connection and an investigation is underway into what happened.
It is understood that the perceived firearm was a toy gun.
The bus station reopened and there is no wider risk to the public.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.25pm on Saturday, September 14 2024, police, including firearms officers, attended Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow, following reports of a male passenger on a bus with what was believed to be a firearm.
“The bus and the bus station was evacuated as a precaution. A 50-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are continuing.
“There is now no safety risk to the public and the station is now back open.”
