Two people have been arrested and reported following a 'series of fraud incidents' at several banks.
On Thursday, September 19, a 40-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested after reports from bank branches on Aberdeen’s Albyn Place and Union Street, involving the alleged fraudulent theft of around £5,000 in cash.
Following further investigation work, the pair have also been reported in connection with eight alleged incidents at branches in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dalkeith, between July and September this year.

The total lost money is estimated to be a five-figure sum.
Officers say enquiries into the alleged frauds remain ongoing.
Meanwhile, the pair are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday, September 20.
Detective Sergeant David Williamson, from North East CID, said: “These arrests highlight the benefits of national cooperation across Police Scotland’s Divisional boundaries to tackle financial crime.
“I would like to thank staff at the relevant bank branches for their assistance with our enquiries.”
