A young girl was 'viciously' attacked while heading home from school in East Kilbride.
The incident took place in the Westwood Road area of the town on Thursday, September 19.
According to a post on social media, the child was brutally assaulted near the shops on the road.

Police say they have since been made aware of the incident. The force also confirmed the victim was a 12-year-old girl.
The youngster was taken to hospital after the attack as a precaution.
An investigation is underway.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were made aware of a 12-year-old female youth having been assaulted in the Westwood Road area of East Kilbride on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
"The girl attended hospital as a precaution.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
