Plain-clothed cops recovered a 'quantity of white powder' and 'scales' after stopping a motor in Rutherglen.

Officers from the priority policing team stopped a vehicle on Burnhill Street in the town shortly after 12am on Saturday, September 21.

They stopped the motor due to its 'manner of driving'. After that, police allegedly discovered a quantity of white powder, green herbal material, cash and scales in the vehicle.

A 31-year-old man was then charged for alleged drugs offences. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Sunday, September 22, in the Lanarkshire area, response cops raced to reports of a man 'slumped over in a stationary vehicle'.

The force was alerted to the incident at around 11.12am.

Following that, the vehicle was searched and cops allegedly discovered 81 snap bags containing white powder, 80 blue tablets, and £2455 in cash.

On top of that, mobile phones, a laptop, and scales were also seized. 

A 47-year-old man was charged with alleged drugs offences and a report will be be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 12.27pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, plainclothes officers from the priority policing team, stopped a vehicle on Burnhill Street, Rutherglen due to the manner of driving.

"A quantity of white powder, green herbal material, cash and scales were recovered from the vehicle.

"A 31-year-old male was charged with drugs offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"A separate incident on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 11.12am, officers from response policing attended reports of a male slumped over in a stationary vehicle.

"The vehicle was searched and 81 snap bags containing white powder, 80 blue tablets, £2455 in cash, mobile phones, a laptop and scales were seized.

"A 47-year-old male was charged with drugs offences and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
