A man has been seriously hurt after an incident with a road sweeper in Cumbernauld.
He was driving his grey Vauxhall Grandland along Mollins Road at around 1.50pm on Wednesday, September 25 when it collided with the Scania XT sweeper.
Emergency services crews were blue-lighted to the scene and the 26-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated.
Medics describe his injuries as serious.
Meanwhile, the driver of the road sweeper was not hurt.
Officers shut the road for around six hours to carry out investigations and they are now calling on the public to help.
Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who has dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1923 of September 25, 2024.
