A Pret a Manger cafe in Glasgow has been taped off following an incident.
The Sauchiehall Street branch of the sandwich shop chain was covered in police tape on Tuesday morning.
Piles of burnt rubbish could be seen strewn across the ground on the West Nile Street side of the building.
Shattered glass was lying in a pile along the bottom of one of the windows which had been smashed.
The force confirmed that they were called to the scene at around 4.40am.
An investigation has been launched and they are urging any witnesses to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are investigating a wilful fire-raising at a business premises in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
“Emergency services were called to the scene around 4.40am on Tuesday, 1 October, 2024.
"Nobody was injured and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0393 of Tuesday, October 1, 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
A Pret spokesperson said: “We are grateful to the emergency services for their quick response this morning and are supporting them with their investigation.
"The safety of our teams and customers is our top priority and we are thankful that no one was harmed.”
