An A-listed building which could be turned into student housing is currently home to a baby foodbank.

Flemington House in Springburn, formerly a college, is partly empty and partly used as office space.

One organisation based here is Glasgow Baby Food Bank Limited, a North Glasgow charity working to eliminate child hunger.

Also listed at this address are We Buy Any Car Glasgow Springburn and ADHD Direct Ltd.

As the Glasgow Times reported last month, a planning application to transform the building into student flats has been submitted to the council.

It is a four-storey building with a central courtyard, originally built as the headquarters for the North British Locomotive Company.

Applicant Flemington Accommodation Ltd now proposes to refurbish the entire building and create a 410-bedroom student accommodation.

According to documents, this would be a mix of self-catering rooms with integral kitchens and cluster rooms with shared kitchens and sitting rooms.

Next to the main building, an annexe is also planned, containing 88 bedrooms.

The venue would have a 24-hour reception, bike storage, laundry room, pool room, cinema, gym and more.F

The planning application is being reviewed by Glasgow City Council officials and a decision is expected by Friday, November 22.

The last day for comments is Friday, October 25.
