A Glasgow Cineworld chain has confirmed it will close for good after this week.
The Parkhead cinema will remain open until Sunday, October 6 after a High Court judge ruled on Tuesday, October 1 that the operator could close some of its sites in a ‘restructuring plan’.
Staff informed cinemagoers of the plan on Tuesday and added that members of the Unlimited club will receive an email with the next steps.
They also thanked customers for their support over the years.

Following the closure of the East End cinema, movie fans can still visit the nearby Cineworld branches on Renfrew Street in the city centre and at Silverburn.
A spokesperson said: "After years of providing movie lovers with a place to feel more, we have made the difficult decision to close Cineworld Glasgow Parkhead.
"The cinema will remain open until October 6. If you’re an Unlimited member, please check your emails for an update.
"Thank you to all of you movie-loving customers for choosing us over the years. We hope you continue to enjoy watching movies at our local cinemas of Renfrew Street and Silverburn."
It comes after we reported that the Parkhead cinema was one of several Cineworld sites shutting across the country in a plan designed to help with ‘increasingly high and unsustainable’ operating costs.

Cineworld was said to be under threat of entering administration if the plans were not approved.
Their barrister, Tom Smith KC, told a court they are “presently unprofitable” after being “severely adversely impacted” by the Covid-19 pandemic and strikes by screen actors and writers last year.
