The victim of a horrific attack in Glasgow had vanished before help arrived at the scene.
Police officers received a call at around 9.10am on Tuesday, September 24 informing them that a man was being assaulted.
They were told that the incident occurred near a footpath on Dalmarnock Road in the city's East End.
When the force got there, he assailants and victim had left the scene.
Detectives are now urgently trying to find the man who was attack but they have not yet been able to identify him.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black top with a camouflage style design on the front, black jogging trousers, black and white trainers.
After scouring CCTV footage from the area, it has been determined that an injured man appeared to walk away from the scene.
Several people witnessed what happened, but none of them knew the man or any of his attackers.
Detective Constable Jacqueline Harris said: “We are continuing to investigate this crime and I would urge the man who was assaulted to contact us.
"We need to ensure he does not require medical treatment and that he is safe and well. If anyone knows who the man is or has any information regarding this incident, please contact us.”
