A Glasgow building has been named one of the 30 most beautiful in Britain. 

A poll was conducted by hotel group Leonardo Hotels who asked the public what structures they believed to be the most stunning across the country.

Glasgow City Chambers on George Square made it to number 30 with 3% of the vote.

Dating back to the Victorian era, the structure was designed by Scottish architect William Young and inaugurated by Queen Victoria in 1888. 

It is the headquarters of Glasgow City Council, who held its first meeting there the following year.

A combination of both modern and historic designs, the list features iconic buildings such as the Tower of London, the Shambles in York, Highclere Castle and many more. 

Coming in at first place with 24% of the public vote as Britain's most beautiful building was Buckingham Palace in London.
