A car was deliberately set on fire in the early hours of the morning today.
Around 12.55am, the vehicle was set ablaze on Dalbeattie Braes in Airdrie.
The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.

However, detectives are now appealing for information following the crime.
Detective Sergeant Alison Thomson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact us.
“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV of the area at the time to come forward.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0141 of October 3, 2024.
