A department store in Buchanan Galleries has donated top-quality bedding to a health and social care charity.

Quarriers, which assists vulnerable children, adults, and families, was also awarded £1,000 as part of the John Lewis Partnership's (JLP) Community Matters funding from the Glasgow branch.

The bedding including pillows, duvets, duvet covers, fitted sheets, blankets, and pillowcases, was distributed to two Quarriers services; the Dumfries and Galloway Youth Housing Support Service and Rivendell, a 24-hour residential support for children and young people with complex needs.

"At the John Lewis Partnership, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and we know that Quarriers does incredible work supporting individuals facing challenging circumstances.

"We hope this contribution helps to make a real difference in providing comfort and care to those who need it most."

"When a young person takes up a tenancy, they are delighted to have somewhere to call home.

"However, they have next to nothing.

"Everyone wants to feel cocooned and safe in their bed and these pillows and items of bedding add a new level of luxury and provide great comfort."

Joyce Sweeney, operational manager at Rivendell, added: "Rivendell is home to young people with complex needs and this gift of bedding gives us the opportunity to offer an extra level of comfort to the children and young people we support."

Quarriers runs more than 100 services across Scotland, providing practical care and support to thousands of individuals facing extremely challenging circumstances.
