A teenager has been rushed to hospital after being found 'injured' in Rutherglen.

Police say they were called to an alleged disturbance involving a group of youths in Lauder Drive on Friday, October 4.

The force was alerted to the incident shortly after 9pm.

999 crews raced to the scene. Following that, an 18-year-old man was found injured.

The teen was then taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy was arrested and has been released pending further enquiry.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 9.20pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, police received a report of a disturbance involving a group of youths in Lauder Drive, Rutherglen.

"Officers attended and an 18-year-old male was found injured.

"He has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"A 14-year-old boy was arrested and has been released pending further enquiry."
