A man has been attacked with a weapon in a shocking incident near a Glasgow park.
The 31-year-old was set upon in Balbeggie Street near Sandyhills Park in the city's East End on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11am and the victim was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated.
His injuries are being described as serious.
The force is now investigating exactly what happened and they are urging anyone who might know something to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Monday, October 7, 2024, we were called to a report of a man having been assaulted with a weapon in Balbeggie Street, near to Sandyhills Park, Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 31-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1078 of Monday, October 7, 2024.
