Today, people in Glasgow marked one-year since Hamas' attack on Israel.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas and several other Palestinian nationalist militant groups launched armed incursions from the Gaza Strip into the Gaza Envelope of southern Israel.
The attacks led to the escalation of the ongoing Israel–Hamas conflict.
Since last year, more than 41,000 Palestinians and 1,139 Israelis have been killed during the war.

Dozens of flower bouquets along with letters and notes where spotted on the steps of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in the city centre - dedicated to the people of Palestine.
Spotted among the colourful bouquets was one note which read: "Sorry the world powers have failed you. The people of the world stand with you and want your freedom."

While a hand-written letter said: "To the Palestinian people, words cannot express the outrage, shame and despair as this genocide unfolds before our very eyes.
"We, the people, stand in solidarity with you. We think of you every day in our thoughts and prayers and our dreams for the future.
"One day the children of Palestine will leave peacefully and without fear.
"Love and solidarity."
