A star Celtic player has been pictured at a plush Glasgow venue as he prepares for his wedding.

Alistair Johnston is getting ready to tie the knot with his partner Peyton Pesavento after he popped the question during a trip to Turnberry in July.

Just a few months later, the pair seem to be well underway with wedding plans as they were spotted at Pollok House this week.

Sharing a series of adorable photos of the pair at the famous wedding venue, Peyton wrote: "Is it too early to start a wedding countdown?"

It comes after the Canadian got himself on the scoresheet against Ross County in a tough 2-1 win for the Hoops on Sunday.

Dating back to the 18th century, Pollok House is a stunning stately home located on the grounds of Pollok Park in the city's Southside.

The house was the family seat of the Maxwells for six centuries and in 1998 management was passed to the National Trust by the council.

Today, visitors enjoy visiting most of the ground floor and some first-floor and basement rooms, take tea and scones at the café and have a stroll around the gardens.

With its grand, sweeping staircases, ornate interiors and beautiful gardens, Pollok House is also hired for weddings and events.
