A new nightclub in Glasgow city centre was given the green light.
This week, a planning application was approved, allowing the use of a vacant office building at 71 Glassford Street as a nightclub and pub.
The Merchant City site was developed as retail space on the ground floor and basement and an aparthotel at the upper levels.
According to papers, the retail area failed in 2021 and the property was converted into serviced office accommodation.
This was also unsuccessful.

Applicant C&C Captital Ltd proposed to convert the structure into a 'hybrid' pub, operating at both floor levels. This has now been accepted.
Documents reveal the opening hours will be between 11pm and 3am and the new business will create up to 100 full- and part-time jobs.
The building is next to Homeless Project Scotland, a charity supporting rough sleepers.
Next to the organisation is luxury hotel House of Gods, which opened last October.
The area is also home to several nightclubs and pubs, such as the Polo Lounge, AXM and the Steps Bar.
Most recently, entertainment venue Bowlarama was refurbished into a two-story restaurant and arcade with several games.
