A country music-themed event hosted by a Britain's Got Talent singer at a Glasgow hotel raised £30,000 for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland.
The annual We Love Lunch event, which took place on October 6 at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel, is a lively afternoon of fizz, fun, and games hosted by Edward Reid.
The theme included music from The Theatre College of Scotland, led by SBH Scotland ambassador Reece Donnelly, emerging country singer Erin Ponsonby, and line-dancing guest stars from Maggie’s Rock N Rodeo.
There was a celebrity presence with Capital Radio's Robyn Richford and Katy J, Traitors star Meryl Williams, and influencers Rachel Spicer and Emma Rendall.
A diamond necklace worth £2,995 was won in a Diamond Draw sponsored by Chisholm Hunter.
Melanie Chambers, a parent, shared her journey of raising her daughter Ella, who has spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
She said: "In December 2003, our world was turned upside down when 30 minutes after our daughter arrived, we received the news that our baby had been born unexpectedly with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
"Now our daughter Ella is almost 21 years old and joined me on Sunday at SBH Scotland’s Ladies Lunch.
"I thought there was no hope for Ella, but an SBH Scotland support worker told us in no uncertain terms not to write Ella off.
"She was clear that with the proper support and care, Ella could reach her potential in life."
The funds raised at the event will provide personalised support to thousands of children, young people, and adults across Scotland affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Deborah Roe, director of fundraising for SBH Scotland, said: "Everyone had a wonderful time while raising much needed funds for SBH Scotland - we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors and guests.
"The money raised will enable us to ensure families affected by complex disabilities know they’re not alone in coping."
