A Glasgow man shouted at his sister and called her a "mad cow" for phoning the police.

Haydn Edgar was at a Mansewood address on the afternoon of September 22, 2024.

The 32-year-old was in the back garden, drinking on his own. Around 5pm, he left.

Then, he returned at 6.30pm, shouting and swearing on the street.

His sister called 999 and asked for assistance.

However, when police arrived, she did not want to come to the door to engage with them.

Edgar was apologetic and remorseful and cops were told that a small incident took place but the sister did not want to make a complaint. Officers left.

Nearly 20 minutes later, the sister called emergency services again.

Edgar shouted at her: "I'm going to batter her, mad cow".

Police arrived and traced him in the garden. He was arrested, taken to Govan police station, cautioned and charged.

Edgar, of no fixed address, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he pleaded guilty to aggressive behaviour.

His solicitor said: "He has one matter outstanding. I called his mother this morning. She said that he will reside back with her.

"He has issues with drinking and drug taking. He would welcome a structured deferred sentence."

Sheriff Jonathan Guy imposed a structured deferred sentence and a review was fixed for January 13, 2025.
