A bicycle was thrown at a man during a fight in Glasgow.

Jason Jeffrey appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court this week after he pleaded guilty to being a part of a struggle and injuring others.

The 35-year-old was walking on Union Street in the city centre with another man around 10pm on July 31 last year.

They met a third person and a disagreement took place.

Jeffrey and the other man both punched the third person in the face.

The man Jeffrey was with then threw a can of liquid at the third person, who retaliated by throwing a bicycle at the man.

The trio was then involved in a stand-off until police came.

They were all arrested.

Jeffrey, of Lambhill, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court earlier this week, separate from his co-accused.

The procurator fiscal depute clarified that the 32-year-old was only concerned in a single punch.

Jeffrey's solicitor said: "He is currently on a community payback with supervision.

"He has had problems with alcohol. A structured deferred sentence might be the way for the court to support him. It would benefit him.

"He has financial means but he has outstanding fines."

Sheriff Jonathan Guy tagged Jeffrey for 60 days, forcing him to stay at home between 7pm and 6am each day.
