A MAN became aggressive and shouted at workers at a homeless accommodation in Cambuslang.

Marius Dumitrescu was at the Eva Burrows Project on Clyde Street on September 27 this year.

Two workers noted at 9.45pm that he was intoxicated in the reception area.

He punched a door, which became dislodged and was asked to desist. He replied: “F*** you, suck my d***.”

This made the employee uncomfortable and she asked Dumitrescu not to speak to her in that manner but he continued to be threatening.

He told her: “When I come back, I am going to f*** you.”

Police were alerted and staff tried to roll down the shutters but he kept putting his head through the gap.

When they were finally closed, he punched them.

Cops arrived and saw the 38-year-old lying down at the reception area. He was handcuffed, arrested and taken to the police car.

He spat in the direction of one officer but missed. A spit hood was applied.

Due to his intoxication, Dumitrescu was taken to Hairmyres Hospital, where he kept shouting.

He said to a police officer: “Lady, do you want some d*** tonight?” and made two other comments of this nature. He was asked to stop.

Instead, he continued and asked her to “suck my d***”.

He was arrested again and taken to Kilmarnock police station.

There, as they took him to a cell, he spat on a police officer, hitting him on the right trouser leg.

Dumitrescu said: “Do you know my name? Do you know what my main course is? It’s 10 dongs, my main course is well done d*** and your balls.”

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court earlier this week after he pleaded guilty to the offences.

His solicitor said: "He is 38 and he has two children. He is calling out for psychiatric help. That is what he is asking for.

"He has been calling out for help for a very long time. He has been asking for a GP, psychologist or psychiatrist to speak to during his time in Barlinnie. He contacted the chaplain.

"Immediately before being taken to custody, he had an appointment to discuss matters with a professional. He has suffered from addiction to alcohol and heroin for a very long time."

The lawyer also explained that on the day of the offence, Dumitrescu had taken medication and drank three bottles of wine, therefore, he has a very vague recollection

She added: "He is remorseful for what he has done. He is still in a position where he is calling out for help.

"He has aspirations to open a takeaway. He is treating this period in remand as a second chance. He has no intention to go back."

Sheriff Collette Gallagher said: "I have got some concerns as he indicated that he has issues with his mental health.

"If he was to be released, it would be into the care of homeless services and the concern is that that is where the offence took place."

The sentence was deferred for the determination of whether there was a significant sexual element to the offence and a psychiatric report.

Dumitrescu was admitted to bail with a special condition not to approach the Eva Burrows Centre.
