A man has died in 'unexplained' circumstances in Hamilton.
Police were called to Morgan Street in the town at around 6.55pm on Saturday, October 26.
The unidentified individual was rushed to University Hospital Hairmyres where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are now trying to find out who this man is and exactly how he died.
A post-mortem will be carried out and at the moment, the force is treating the man's death as unexplained.
More police will be in the area in the meantime and any local residents who are concerned can speak to officers.
Chief Inspector Neil Smith said: “Around 6.55pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, we were called to Morgan Street, Hamilton.
“An as yet unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“Officers are currently working to establish his identity and the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
"A postmortem examination will take place in due course and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
“There is an increased police presence in the area while officers carry out their enquiries and anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them.
“Anyone with information that may assist our enquiries is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 2991 of October 26."
