Drugs worth over £100,000 have been seized during three raids in North Lanarkshire.

The force searched premises under warrant at Kilbowie Road in Cumbernauld at around 9am on Friday, October 25.

Cocaine with an estimated street value of around £90,000 was seized from within.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is due to appear in court at a later date.

Cops then carried out searches at two further addresses on Biggar Road and Carlisle Road in Cleland later that day.

Cannabis, estimated to be worth around £25,000, was recovered alongside various other drug-related products.

A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection with this recovery and will appear in court at a later date.

Another man, aged 46, and a woman, aged 47, were also arrested and released pending further investigations.

The force is urging anyone worried about drug activity in their area to contact them.

“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy and we will continue to work with partner agencies to tackle this issue and make our communities safer.
