The discovery of an item in a home in Clydebank is not related to the death of a man in the same area over a week ago, police have said.
Bomb squad, police and fire crews have been stationed in Dalmuir after a 'suspect' item was found in a high-rise block of flats on Overtoun Court on Monday, October 28.
Officers were carrying out searches in the area as part of an "ongoing investigation" when they came across the item.
Several residents have been evacuated and people are being asked to avoid the area.
It comes after a 58-year-old man was found dead in Overtoun Court on October 17.
However, the force has revealed that they do not believe the two incidents to be linked.
Scotland spokesperson said: "There is nothing to suggest that the item found in the property is linked to the ongoing investigation into the death of a 58-year-old man."
A PoliceWe also reported that trains are "severely" disrupted between Clydebank and Glasgow due to the incident.
ScotRail has warned that all lines are closed at Dalmuir and that all services running through this station are cancelled, revised or delayed.
Changes are expected to last until 6pm tonight.
