Announcing the extension of the closure, Glasgow City Council says it is to allow the reconstruction of Cambridge Street.
We reported earlier this year how the road will be closed to allow the reconstruction of the street as part of the City Centre Avenue project.
During the extended closure, disabled parking places on Cambridge Street will be relocated to Blythswood Street, south of Sauchiehall precinct and Rose Street, north of Sauchiehall Precinct.
A spokesperson for the council said: "The proposed works on Cambridge Street form part of the City Centre Avenue Works.
"In order to undertake the reconstruction of Cambridge Street, the current road closure for Cambridge Street between Renfrew Street and Sauchiehall Precinct will be extended for seven weeks.
"The road closure shall commence at 8am on Friday, November 1, 2024, until 4pm on Friday, December 20, 2024."

It comes after we reported how drivers are being urged to 'avoid' part of a busy Glasgow road this week.
Glasgow City Council has said to allow footpath resurfacing works to take place, the traffic signals at the Great Western Road/Napiershall Road junction will be switched off and temporary lights will be put in place.
The work, which began on Monday, October 28, will take place until 6pm on Friday, November 1.
During the works, the local authority is urging motorists to 'avoid the area'.
