A Rangers pub in Spain has raised over 1000 euros for victims of the floods devastating parts of the country.

Ibrox Bar Benidorm collected the funds while they aired Sunday's Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Motherwell, which Rangers won 2-1.

The team at the pub has expressed their pride and gratitude at the total raised and say they will work on bringing supplies to those affected.

It comes after storms in eastern Spain led to massive flooding last week and killed more than 200 people.

This took place mostly near Valencia and floods are now affecting Barcelona.

A spokesperson for Ibrox Bar Benidorm said: "We are extremely proud to say the Rangers fans raised 1000€ today in 90 minutes of the match in the bar.

"We are so humbled and tomorrow we will start the process of getting all the necessities including water and whatever is needed to the relevant organisers to take to those affected.

"Thank you so much to everyone that has donated today you truly are wonderful people. With more rain falling tonight we hope this helps this heartbreaking tragedy our neighbours are going through."

Rangers fans from all over the world have sent their messages of support during a difficult time for people in Spain.

One said: "Thanks from a Valencian Rangers fan currently in Picanya helping my brother."

Another wrote: "Well done Bears."

A third added: "Brilliant achievement more than a pub and a club."

Searches are continuing in Valencia for bodies inside houses and thousands of wrecked cars strewn in the streets, on major roads, and in canals that channelled last week’s deluge into populated areas.

Citizens, volunteers and thousands of soldiers and police officers are helping in the gargantuan clean-up effort of mud and debris.

Spain’s Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said authorities are still unable to give a reliable estimate of the number of people who are missing.
