A MAN appeared in court today accused of murdering a woman in Glasgow.
James McCrindle, 53, allegedly assaulted and killed Sandie Butler, 40, in Townhead on October 29, 2024.
Court papers state McCrindle "struggled with" Sandie and "struck her to the body with a knife or a similar implement."
Sandie was found seriously injured in the St Mungo Avenue area but unfortunately, she later died.
Tributes poured in after Sandie's death.

Charmain Hunter said: "Not Sandie, she was such a lovely person. I met her the day she came to Ness and kept in touch since.
"Oh doll, my heart breaks for you, pet. RIP Sandie, 'til we meet on the other side".
Lorraine Grant stated: "I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll never forget the help you gave my sister, my thoughts are with your family and friends at this sad time."
McCrindle made no plea today to the murder charge at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He was represented by his lawyer Marco Guarino.
He was remanded in custody and committed for further examination by Sheriff Allan McKay.
McCrindle, of the city's Townhead, will appear at court again within the next eight days.
