A teen has been left 'seriously' injured in an alleged incident in Rutherglen on Bonfire Night.
A 16-year-old male was hit by a black Mercedes Vito taxi on Main Street around 4.10pm on Tuesday, November 5.
Emergency crews were called to the scene and the boy was rushed to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are described as 'serious'.
The driver of the taxi, a 58-year-old man, was arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.
He has now been released pending further enquiries.
The road was closed until around 8.15pm while officers carried out an investigation at the scene.
Detectives are still looking into what happened and they are urging anyone who saw the incident to get in touch.
Any drivers with dashcam footage are also urged to contact the police.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder, Road Policing Motherwell said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone with information which could help to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage from the area to let us know.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2428 of November 5, 2024.”
