A Glasgow woman who was hit by a pick-up truck in Rutherglen last weekend has since died.
Victoria Cairns was hit by an orange Mistubishi L200 on Farmeloan Road at around 8pm on Saturday, November 2.
The 40-year-old was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and we previously reported that she was fighting for her life in a 'critical' state.
Now the force has revealed she sadly died on Wednesday, November 6.
The 33-year-old male driver of the pick-up was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, November 4.
Officers are still investigating the full circumstances of the crash.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this difficult time. They have asked that their privacy is respected.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would again ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3542 of November 2, 2024.
