A teen seriously injured in a crash with a taxi has since died.
We reported that a 16-year-old male was hit by a black Mercedes Vito taxi on Main Street in Rutherglen at around 4.10pm on Tuesday, November 5.
Emergency crews were called to the scene and the boy was rushed to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were described as 'serious'.
The boy sadly died in hospital on Saturday, November 9.
A 58-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and released pending further enquiries.
The road was closed until around 8.15pm to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Cops are continuing to call upon the public to help in any way they can if they witnessed what happened.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the teenager who died at this terrible time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch if you think you can help.
“I would also appeal for anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage that could assist to contact us.”
