A couple have found their 'forever home' at a new Kirkintilloch development.

Lucy and her partner Fraser chose a four-bedroom Bryce housestyle at Cala Homes' Weaver's Brae development.

The couple were drawn to the 'idyllic' new-build home as it suited their lifestyle and needs.

They had been watching the development being built and couldn't stop thinking about the suburb.

Lucy said: "When we made the decision to buy together, we knew quite quickly that we wanted a new-build home.

"Fraser works away for weeks at a time, so if we’d bought a house that needed a lot of work done, I’d be dealing with a lot of it on my own.

"Therefore, buying a new-build home that didn’t need any DIY, or construction was a no brainer for me.

"We both feel like we have plenty of space to do our own things – for example, I can film cooking vlogs in the open-plan kitchen or work in my home office whilst Fraser can practise his pipes in the lounge."

The couple had previously lived in a smaller, two-bedroom flat in Glasgow city centre.

The 32-year-old couple started their journey with Cala in February 2024, and were given the keys to their new home in May.

She said: "We always assumed buying a house would be incredibly stressful, but the sales team at Cala hugely helped ease the whole process.

"Our time at home is precious, so I wanted this to be as quick and painless of a process as possible – it felt like Cala did everything for us, and any worries we had were taken away by not being in a chain."

The couple are also enjoying the energy-efficient and cost-effective benefits of their new-build home compared to their old tenement apartment.

Lucy now describes their new home as their 'forever home'.

She said: "We chose the Bryce at Weaver’s Brae because ultimately, we could see ourselves spending a lifetime here, we can adapt the home to support us throughout all stages of life, including starting a family, and eventually retiring."

Weaver’s Brae, located in Kirkintilloch, offers semi-rural surroundings in East Dunbartonshire, with Glasgow city centre within 'easy' reach.

There is only one home remaining for a 2024 move-in at the development and for more information you can visit the Cala Homes website here: https://www.cala.co.uk/.
