Final plans for a £60 million student accommodation development in Glasgow have been submitted.
Valeo Management Europe, operators of the Liv Student brand, have lodged the proposals with Glasgow City Council for the currently vacant brownfield site on Carrick Street, which was previously home to the GAP Group headquarters.
If approved, the plans will see the development of managed student accommodation with 531 new student beds, offering a mix of individual studio rooms and more affordable cluster flats.
The accommodation aims to attract both domestic and international students.
The proposals also include a versatile commercial unit designed to serve the new and growing community in the Broomielaw area.
The proposals will also preserve and incorporate the modern Glasgow City Mission building.
David Saunders, managing director of Valeo Management Europe, said: "We are delighted to have submitted our application for new purpose-built student accommodation for Carrick Street.
"The Broomielaw and wider River Clyde Waterfront is undergoing significant transformation, and we hope that our plans will go somewhere to supporting this transition, as well as providing much needed student rooms in Glasgow.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have engaged with us throughout the consultation process and provided us with their valuable feedback."
The final submission marks the culmination of an extensive period of community consultation, with events being hosted in June and September this year.
This consultation period allowed residents to learn about the proposed development, engage with the project team, and provide their feedback.
