A Glasgow woman is celebrating 10 years of being cancer-free by supporting a cancer charity's Bauble Appeal.
Kirstie Storrie, 43, from Baillieston, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer a decade ago and received treatment at The Beatson.
She has since been a strong advocate for the Beatson Cancer Charity and continues to raise awareness and funds for their work.
Kirstie has also supported her mother through breast and ovarian cancer diagnoses and mourned the loss of her sister-in-law, Jordanna, to ovarian cancer.
She said: "The Beatson Cancer Charity have most recently supported, my mum.
"Over the last year, my mum was diagnosed with ovarian and breast cancer.
"My sister-in-law was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple of years ago.
"She had fundraised for the charity because she was helped by them as well.
"Unfortunately, she was only 28 when she passed away in March."
To mark her 10-year milestone, she participated in the Great Scottish Run's 10k, raising funds for the charity.
She said: "Beatson Cancer Charity have had an impact on my life significantly over the years.
"When I counted through my family members, there is myself, my gran, papa, have all been helped.
"But, most recently my mum, sister-in-law and a few friends.
"So, I have visited many people in The Beatson. They have been a constant in my life, even before my diagnosis."
She encourages people to support the Bauble Appeal this Christmas, to help others who are going through cancer treatment.
Rachel Mullin, individual giving officer at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: "We are so pleased to be launching our Bauble Appeal again this year.
“Kirstie has first-hand experience of The Beatson and the difference our charity’s services make to patients, and we’re so grateful to her for sharing his story."
