Tributes have poured in for a 'beautiful' young woman who was found dead in a flat. 

Phoenix Spencer-Horn, 21, was found within the property on Glen Lee in East Kilbride on Monday, November 18.

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with her death and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.

Meanwhile, tributes have been paid to Phoenix who has been described as a 'beautiful young girl' with 'her whole life ahead of her'.

One person said: "Beyond heartbreaking, poor girl and her family."

Another said: "Absolutely awful... that poor girl and what her family must be going through, I can't even begin to imagine. Thinking of her mum dad and all who loved her."

A third added: "Rip beautiful."

A friend of Phoenix's said it was "an honour to have known and loved her", while another said: "Rip angel, a friendship I will never forget."

Another person said: "My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Phoenix. Such a beautiful girl with her life ahead of her."

Detective Chief Inspector Susie Cairns of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Phoenix’s family are obviously stunned and completely devastated by what has happened and we will continue to support them and those affected during this very distressing time.

“Officers remain at the scene however there is no wider risk to the public.”

We reported that a police presence was pictured at the flats on Tuesday, almost 24 hours after cops were first called to the area.
