A new restaurant is set to open in the place of a Glasgow 'institution' which closed.
Signage has appeared outside the former Two Fat Ladies in the City restaurant on Blythswood Street in the city centre.
It indicates that a Korean eatery, SSAMM, will soon take over.
Regarded as a city institution, Two Fat Ladies first opened in 2005, showcasing a delicious seafood menu in an intimate setting, and was a sister restaurant of Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery, which took over the iconic restaurant The Buttery in 2007.
Located on Argyle Street, The Buttery is thought to be Glasgow's oldest restaurant dating to 1870.
Two Fat Ladies in the City eventually closed and we reported that it was sold in March 2024.
SSAMM describes itself as the 'hottest Korean BBQ restaurant' and could be a reference to ssam, a Korean delicacy of wrapping food in other food, such as meat wrapped in vegetables.
An exact opening date has not been revealed, but SSAMM hints that they are 'coming soon'.
