A new retailer opening in East Kilbride promises to be the 'best value' for customers. 

Pet brand Jollyes is adding to its 100-plus UK stores with a new shop at the town's Kingsgate Retail Park. 

It will open at 10am on Saturday, November 30 in a special ceremony accompanied by a piper for St Andrew's Day.

(Image: Jollyes) Customers will be able to shop Jollyes’ raw food frozen ‘shop-in-shop’ and later this year, community pet clinics will offer what they claim to be unbeatable prices for vet services such as microchipping and vaccinations.

On hand - well, on paw - to open the store will be Corrie, an Alsatian who served for six years with Police Scotland until retirement. 

Corrie will bite through a string of sausages to declare the store open for business.

Like many other former service dogs, Corrie is being supported by the National Federation of Retired Service Animals (NFRSA).

A key charity partner for Jollyes, NFRSA helps support the care, well-being, and welfare of retired service animals from across the emergency services including the police, fire, border force, National Crime Agency, NHS and prison services.

Over the next 12 months, all Jollyes’ stores will be raising money for NFRSA with collections matched by Jollyes up to £20,000 that will help NFRSA support retired service animals and their owners.

East Kilbride is one of three stores opening over a fortnight, with stores in Leyland, Lancashire and Cardiff, Wales opening too.
