A young Corsa driver has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash involving a truck on the M8.
The collision took place at around 12.55am on Tuesday, November 26, on the westbound carriageway of the motorway near Junction 7 (Eurocentral Junction) in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.
Police say it involved a lorry and a black Corsa. Following the serious incident, a 21-year-old, who was the driver of the Corsa, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured.
Following the incident, the road was closed for several hours. It reopened at around 6.45am.

Now, road cops are appealing for anyone with information on the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Elaine Scott of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigation into this serious crash continues and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has relevant dash cam footage, to please get in touch.
“The road was closed for around six hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.
“Information can be passed to Police Scotland by calling 101, and quoting reference 0116 of November 26, 2024.”
