A massive new Primark store is set to open at a Glasgow shopping centre next week.

The beloved retailer will officially open its new location at the Glasgow Fort in the East End on Thursday, December 5.

However, ahead of the store's much-anticipated opening day in December, we've put together everything you need to know about it.

What date is Primark opening at the Glasgow Fort:

The much-loved retailer will open at the centre on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

What are the new store's opening times:

The store will open at 10am on its opening day. After that, the shop will follow the centre's opening hours, which are as follows: 

  • Monday to Friday: 10am until 10pm. 
  • Saturday: 9am to 7pm.
  • Sunday: 10am until 6pm.

Where is the new Primark located at Glasgow Fort:

Shoppers will be able to find the iconic retailer's new store right next to Poundland and Hobbycraft.

What will the store sell: 

The brand-new Primark at the centre will stock a range of the brand's clothing, beauty, lifestyle, and homeware products.

How big is the new Primark store at Glasgow Fort: 

The new shop is 33,500-square-foot and is set over two floors.

Meanwhile, we previously reported how the new shop will include self-checkouts alongside serviced tills, and customers can also expect modern fixtures and fittings, updated signage, LED lighting and new display units.

The firm has also recruited 200 new members of staff for the Glasgow Fort store.

Primark also previously revealed the brand-new location will be their 195th store in the United Kingdom.

The retailer’s first store to open in Scotland was in 1975 in Hamilton, which stands on the same site today and remains Primark’s smallest store in the world.

Primark's area manager for Scotland West & Cumbria, Gavin O’Reilly, previously said: “We’re looking forward to opening in just a few weeks’ time at Glasgow Fort, particularly the moment when our first customers will step through our doors.

"The enthusiasm is already building across the team – and it’s not just because it’s Christmas shopping season!

"We’re really proud of this store and what it will soon be offering our customers, from our festive favourites FamJam sets to more timeless essentials, we’re confident there will be something for the entire family to enjoy.”

Meanwhile, Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, added: “The launch of Primark has been an eagerly awaited moment for many of our visitors, so we're over the moon to finally be able to reveal that the new store will open at the beginning of December.

"It’s a fantastic addition to the centre and one I know will be very popular with our shoppers, who I’m sure will be very pleased it’s here just in time for Christmas.

"What an exciting way to draw the year to a close!”
