An elderly woman has been left seriously injured after being hit by a car on a busy street.
Police were called to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on High Street in Johnstone on Monday, December 2.
The force was alerted to the incident shortly before 5pm.
Emergency crews flocked to the scene. After that, the 87-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
Medics have since described her injuries as being serious but not life threatening.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on High Street, Johnstone, around 4.50pm on Monday, December 2, 2024.
“Emergency services attended and the 87-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious but non-life threatening injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
