A car blaze caused disruption on the M8 motorway in North Lanarkshire this morning.
Emergency crews were called to reports of a motor on fire between Junctions 5 (Shotts Interchange) and 6 (Newhouse) on the road's eastbound carriageway on Wednesday, December 4.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the inferno shortly after 8am.
Two fire trucks then raced to the scene and crews managed to tackle the blaze.
Luckily, no one was injured during the incident.

Traffic Scotland said the motorway's eastbound carriageway was closed due to the fire at around 8am this morning.
It reopened at around 9.30am.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.07am on Wednesday, December 4 to reports of a car on fire between junctions 5 and 6 of the M8 eastbound.
“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
