PARAMEDICS are treating a person after a building fire in Wishaw.
Emergency services responded to Stewarton Street after the alarm was raised at around 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Six fire engines remain at the scene as crews work to extinguish the blaze.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed one person is being treated by paramedics.
Stewarton Street is currently closed between East Academy Street and Graham Street.
It is understood nearby buildings have also been evacuated as a precaution.

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.27pm on Wednesday, December 4 to reports of a building on fire at Stewarton Street, Wishaw.
“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances to the scene where firefighters are working to extinguish a fire affecting a building.
“One casualty is in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews are still in attendance.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Stewarton Street in Wishaw is closed between East Academy Street and Graham Street due to a fire which was reported at around 2.30pm.
"Nearby buildings have been evacuated as a precaution. Drivers are urged to use alternative routes."
