With the release of the newest film in the Indiana Jones franchise, film buffs across Glasgow will be eager to grab their popcorn and enjoy this anticipated flick.

In a film about the adventures of Dr Jones and his race against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change history, one of the most interesting things about it is where it was filmed.

While the movie will have visited dozens of exotic locations across the globe, Glasgow is one of the cities heavily featured.

This comes after other Hollywood films like The Batman were filmed in and around Glasgow such as at George Square and the Necropolis.

Where was Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny filmed in Glasgow?

In July of 2021, Glasgow streets were closed off to facilitate the filming of key scenes in the upcoming Indiana Jones adventure.

Streets such as St Vincent Street and Cochrane Street were among those transformed into 1960s New York.

While the city saw a dramatic change, these streets will still be recognisable to eagle-eyed viewers.

The filming saw these streets covered in American bunting, U.S-style fire hydrants, 1960s advertising and classic street signage.

When will Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny be released in Glasgow?

The New Indiana Jones film is released on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, to cinemas across the UK.

It is set to star big names like Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Harrison Ford who have become inseparable from the franchise since it started all the way back in 1981.

The film will be available to watch in cinemas across the city with the Cineworld on Renfield Street (a short walk from the filming locations) and the Vue's St Enoch and Fort branches showing the movie.
