Cumnock in East Ayrshire has been named the most affordable town in Scotland for those looking to buy a home.
Zoopla analysed house value-to-earnings ratios (based on average two-earner household incomes) to find the most affordable locations across the UK.
The research found that towns like Shildon in County Durham and Ferndale in Wales were among the most affordable in the country.
Discussing the data Izabella Lubowiecka, a senior property researcher at Zoopla, said that London remains one of the least affordable places for homebuyers which has forced many to look elsewhere in order to get "value for money".
National Association of Estate Agents Propertymark president Toby Leek added that affordability remains a "real issue" for those looking to settle down, seeing many opt for smaller towns further from large cities.
He said this, coupled with the rise of remote working, has seen people look to cheaper places to get onto the housing ladder when searching for a more affordable "dream home.”
